What I’m interested in when I approach theatre is a strong story, told simply, that engages the audience’s collective imagination. For me, it is embracing the very nature of live theatre — a medium where you can do what is impossible in other mediums. A white sheet can become a ghost, a splashing of water in a tub can become a vast swamp, and suddenly the entire room is somewhere else entirely, once the imagination is caught.
